New Zealand is best known for its organic and unkempt nature. This abundance of natural resources is a great blessing, but which NZ natural Vitamin is right for me?
Vitamin A
Vitamin A is famous for its job in maintaining retina health, growth and immunity. It is commonly found in animal liver, fish carrots and dairy products. Vitamin A contains carotinoids and retinols that help with clear night vision and eye dryness. Deficiency of Vitamin A may cause night blindness, Xerophthalmia, skin irritation, throat and chest infections and/or delayed growth.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C, one of the most widely known vitamins, is necessary in our bodies to ensure growth, development, and growth of all body tissues. "It's also involved in many body functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the proper functioning of the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth" (M. Zelman). Vitamin C is a great vitamin for general health, supporting your cells to remain healthy and protected.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D, commonly referred to as 'sunshine vitamin', is an essential mineral to absorb calcium for bone growth. Other than sunlight, it is also found in seafood such as salmon and tuna. Vitamin D helps regulate calcium and phosphate in the body, keeping bones, teeth, and muscles healthy.
